Situation Awareness Weather Outlook

The National Hurricane Center is classifying Joaquin as a hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph. While there is still uncertainty as the track of the storm, there is the potential for heavy rain and winds in our area towards the end of this weekend and the beginning of next week.

We ask that everyone review some basic safety tips:

• Check to make sure you have an emergency kit.

• Secure outdoor objects that could blow away or cause damage.

• Secure loose rain gutters and downspouts and clear any clogged areas.
