The Santee Sheriff's Station is investigating after a gun was found at Santana High School.
It happened on September 30th just after 6:00 a.m. A school employee was walking through the faculty parking lot and found broken glass. As she went to clear the debris, she saw the handgun on the ground.
A School Resource Deputy from the Santee Sheriff's Station was notified and took possession of the gun. An investigation is underway into who the gun belongs to and why it was on school grounds.
The Sheriff's Department has not received any threats against the school. At this point, this appears to be an isolated incident.
