Suspect arrested for recycling utility wire
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit obtained information that a green Dodge pick-up was seen fleeing an oilfield, located near James Road and Granite Road. Over the past several months, there have been numerous thefts reported from this area. The witness obtained the license plate number for the green Dodge and reported it to the Rural Crime Investigation Unit. The vehicle was registered to ROBERT FALLO (46), of Bakersfield, CA. On 09/24/2015, Rural Crime detectives received information from a local recycling center that FALLO had recycled a large quantity of copper utility wire. Rural Crime detectives followed up on the copper wire that FALLO recycled and learned the copper wire belonged to a local oilfield company in the area of James Road and Granite Road.
A search warrant was served at a local storage facility, in the 3800 block of Mesa Grande, Bakersfield, CA, which is related to FALLO. During the service of the search warrant, detectives located copper wire insulation, which was consistent with the copper wire used by the local oilfield company. FALLO was subsequently arrested and booked into the Kern County jail for violation of PC 496a(a), recycling utility wire without permission. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Unit at (661) 392-4365.
