Prescription Drug Drop Off UPDATE

Thanks to all who participated in last Saturday's prescription drug "take-back" event. We collected 150 pounds of old medications that will be properly disposed of with the assistance of the DEA.

Just a reminder that you can help prevent misuse or damage to the environment from improper disposal of expired, unused, or unwanted pills by dropping them off at ANY police agency in Livingston County.

HERE ARE THE DROP-OFF GUIDELINES:

Prescription and non-prescription medications accepted including:
• Pills, Capsules, Tablets etc…
• Loose pills should be in sealed containers such as a zip-lock bag OR a plastic pill bottle with personal information removed.
• Liquids capped tightly in their container and bagged in zip-lock bag

DO NOT drop off any of the following:
• Sharps (needles)
• Ointments or Creams
• Unsealed liquids
• Pressurized devices such as inhalers
• Glass containers
• Drug paraphernalia
• Any non-medication items
