MBPD Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month by Wearing Pink Uniform Patches

During the month of October, employees of the Manhattan Beach Police Department will be demonstrating their support of breast cancer awareness by wearing pink shoulder patches on their uniforms.  The traditional blue and gold patch has been modified to include a pink sun, lettering and border.  Manhattan Beach Police Department stands in support of friends, family and co-workers who have been affected by Breast Cancer.

Chief of Police Eve R. Irvine said about this program, “The members of the Manhattan Beach Police Department join millions of others around this world to bring awareness to this horrible disease.  And, to every breast cancer survivor and those who are currently in battle, we want you to know that we got your back.”

Our community is challenged to help make a difference in the fight against cancer by volunteering time, participating in an event, or displaying pink to help increase awareness.
