Shooting investigation in Wayne Twp Cass County

Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr. reports that his office is investigating a complaint that took place on today's date at approximately 4:20 pm. Roy Clark III, 27, of Dowagiac was at his father's residence on Twin Lakes Rd. in Wayne Twp when he stepped outside to leave the residence and saw two subjects pushing his father's motor cycle out of the shed on the property. Clark said he confronted the two subjects to ask what they were doing and one of them pulled out a a small caliber rifle and shot at Clark and the two subjects fled into the woods behind the house.

The area was contained as quickly as possible and two Police K9's were called in as well as a Police helicopter from the
Selfridge National Guard Air Base on the east side of the state. The weapon believed to have been used was recovered in the woods as well as shell casings and bullets from the gun. Clark was not injured in the incident. The suspects were described as a skinny white male, approximately 6'2" with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a short sleeved camo shirt at the time of the incident. The second male subject was described as a short Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes having short hair and glasses. He was wearing dark jeans and a red /orange hooded shirt. If you have any information that would be helpful to this investigation contact the Cass County Sheriff's Office at 269 445 2481. The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police and this incident is still under investigation.
