Early morning personal robbery in N. Amarillo under investigation, suspect "large" black male, bald, clean shaven.

On 9-27-15, at about 4:40 AM, officers were sent to the 200 block of N. Adams on a robbery.  A WF age 50 was the victim.  She had facial bruising as a result of the suspect striking her in the face with his fist during the robbery.  She told officers that she had stopped to drop a person off near a residence at 2nd and N. Adams (corrected from first version which stated 2nd and N. Polk).  Before she could drive away, the suspect approached her car and opened the passenger side door.  He got into the car and started demanding “weed” from her.  When she told him that she did not have anything like that, he started searching through her vehicle.  She reached into her back seat to get her purse.  The man grabbed her by the hair and started hitting her in the head and face with his fist.  He pulled her purse out of her hands and the keys out of the vehicle ignition and fled with both items; running west and then north in the Adams Street alley.  The man that the victim had dropped off saw the incident happening and started yelling at the suspect during the robbery.  The suspect was described as a “large” black male, bald, clean shaven, and wearing a black tee shirt and black pants.   He was also wearing a red bandana around his neck, but this item was found in the alley he ran down while running from the scene.  There were no arrests.  The victim did not require medical attention.
