Saturation Patrol Nets One Impaired Driver

Gibson County – Last night and early this morning, Indiana State Police conducted a saturation patrol targeting impaired and dangerous drivers in the Princeton area.  Between 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., troopers issued seven traffic tickets, 26 warnings and arrested one driver for possessing marijuana and for driving while impaired.

At approximately 10:55 last night, Trooper Ross Rafferty was patrolling on South Main Street near Clark Street when he observed the driver of a 2001 Pontiac following another vehicle too closely. Trooper Rafferty stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Breeanna Thorne, 21, of Evansville.  An odor of marijuana was detected inside the vehicle.  A search revealed a small amount of marijuana and a pipe used to smoke marijuana.  Further investigation revealed she was impaired.  Thorne was arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail where she is currently being held on bond.
