On September 24, 2015, at about 0300 hours, Deputies of the Kern County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 2700-block of Security Avenue for a report of a critical missing 3 year old male juvenile. Deputies learned family members woke up to discover the front door open and the boy missing from the residence. After a thorough search of the residence and surrounding streets was unsuccessful, a ReadyKern notification with a 5-block radius was sent out requesting the public's assistance in locating the missing child. Deputies initiated a yard to yard search of the neighborhood. During the search, deputies contacted residents in the 2700-block of Center Street, who advised they found a male juvenile inside their residence. Deputies determined the missing juvenile had left his residence and walked around the block into the neighbor's residence. The boy was unharmed and he was reunited with his family.
