The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a wanted non-compliant registered sex offender. On 09/23/2015, an arrest warrant was issued by the Steuben Circuit Court charging 62 year old Bruce W. Severance with one count of failure to register as a sex or violent offender, a level 6 felony. The arrest warrant comes after a Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations that Severance moved to Steuben County, Indiana from Wisconsin and failed to register as sex offender with the Sheriff’s Office. The investigation also revealed that Severance had an outstanding arrest warrant in Sawyer County, Wisconsin for a sex offender registry violation. Severance is described as a white male with gray hair, a gray beard, and blue eyes. He is 6’0” tall and weighs approximately 220 lbs. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Severance is asked to contact the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office or Steuben County Crime Stoppers.
