Advisory

Sheriff's Office serves several marijuana search warrants over the past week.

Over the past week the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Units, with the assistance of the US Forest Service, The California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Bureau of Land Management served search warrants related to illegal Marijuana Grows throughout Kern County.

Last week two warrants were served in eastern Kern County. The first was served on private property in the Stallion Springs area. Subjects had entered the property and planted a clandestine Marijuana grow without the owners knowledge. This marijuana grow had just over two thousand plants. The second grow was located on private property in the Hart Flat area. This marijuana grow had just under one thousand plants.

On this date, a third warrant was served on US Forest Service property in the Kern River Canyon. This grow was found to have over one thousand pounds of processed marijuana as well as over three thousand plants.

The plants had the ability to produce thousands of pounds of processed marijuana which would result in millions of dollars of street value marijuana at maturity. The seizure of the processed marijuana found in these warrants had a potential street value in excess of one million dollars as it was found. These grows take their toll on our community and with water they need to grow they play a crucial role in our states ability to conserve water.
