Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a 55-year-old male Black that occurred in the 140th block of West 131st Street, unincorporated Los Angeles.

Detectives have learned that the victim was standing by the location and was approached by the suspect.  An argument ensued between them, and the suspect produced a gun and shot the victim once in the upper torso.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released pending notification to next of kin.

The suspect is a Hispanic or White man, with no further description.  He was last seen running northbound on the adjacent alley of the location.

NARRATIVE:

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to the 140^th block of West 131^st Street, unincorporated Los Angeles, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of male adult.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
