Escorts into evacuation areas to take care of livestock and pets

On September 19, 2015 at 10:30 am, law enforcement personnel will start to escort residents to their homes, in order to take care of or pick up livestock and pets that were left during the initial evacuation. Accommodations will be made for those individuals requiring assistance with retrieving their medications, light medical equipment and supplies. Residents must be able to provide identification, in order to be allowed into the evacuation area. These escorts will begin at 10:30 am and end promptly at 6:30 pm. The Sheriff’s Office will work to get as many residents to their animals during this time frame.

Escort Staging and Screening Area:

The staging and screening area will be located at the parking lot to the old Outrageous Waters Park and Fun Center. Directions to the water park is Old Hwy 53 to Airport Road.

Residents must meet the following criteria:

Have photo identification listing a residence address in the evacuation area
Intend only to retrieve or feed animals.

Residents must be ready with all food or equipment necessary to accomplish their task.

Residents must be able to complete the intended task in no more than 15 minutes.


Residents requesting to enter properties in Hidden Valley Lake and Middletown, Loch Lomond, Cobb and Anderson Springs will meet in the main parking lot of the Lower Lake High School. No escorts will be made to properties where there is ongoing fire fighting efforts or areas that are too dangerous to enter

No escorts will be made into active fire areas.

No escorts will be made for residents requesting clothes or any other personal items. Residents needing medications should see their doctor or go to the Emergency Rooms for assistance.
