This coming Monday, September 21, 2015, TP Valencia will host the 9th

Annual Sheriff's Foundation/ Search and Rescue Golf Tournament. This golf

tournament is held yearly as a fundraiser for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's

Station Search and Rescue Team. 

This year’s tournament honors Deputy Randy Hamson, who died after a long

and hard fought battle to injuries he sustained after being struck by a car on

Saturday, August 16, 2004.  In honor of Deputy Randy Hamson, there is a

pledge of a $2,000 Foundation Scholarship to be awarded to four deserving

local students.

The Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue Team is a volunteer group

formed to assist the Sheriff's Department in search and rescue operations or

any other governmental agency upon request.  The Search and Rescue team

responds 24 hours a day, seven days a week to calls involving vehicles over

the side, earthquakes, lost hikers, power outages, missing persons, along

with rescuing people or recovering evidence in challenging terrain. 

Although the search and rescue team gets some support from the County of

Los Angeles, they must rely on fundraising efforts in order to buy specialized

equipment and training necessary to continue to maintain the highest level of

service to our community. 

The golf tournament will feature a four-person scramble format in which each

player must contribute a minimum of three drives to your team’s score.  We

Registration is between 8:00 am to 9:45 am. Golfers at their carts by 9:45 am with a tee off time of 10:00 am. Open bar will be approximately 1 hour following golf rounds with dinner and awards following.

Individual $350 per person – Foursome $1200 – Sponsorships available $2,500 -$10,000
