Buncombe County authorities are searching for a runaway teen that has ties to McDowell.
Dylan Evan Smith, 16, went missing from Enka High School Thursday, Sept. 17.
Family friends reported seeing him at McDonald’s in Old Fort Thursday evening. He has family and friends in Old Fort, Marion and Nebo.
Smith is described as a white male who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
Anyone with information concerning the teen’s whereabouts is asked to call Detective Sgt. Dana Fox of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office at (828) 250-4458 or the McDowell County 911 communications center at 652-4000.
