Animal Cruelty Investigation
The Menlo Park Police Department is currently investigating an Animal Cruelty case that occurred on September 17, 2015 on Hanna Way in Menlo Park.
Officers were called out to the 200 block of Hanna Way to a report of a decapitated animal. Upon arrival, officers found what appeared to be a small, non-domesticated rabbit that he been decapitated. Officers noted there was no blood at the scene, indicating the possibility that the rabbit was placed in the roadway. An officer from the Peninsula Humane Society arrived on scene and took possession of the remains of the animal. Evidence located at the scene was collected and will be sent to the county crime lab for analysis.
Menlo Park Police Detectives have been assigned to the investigation. The Menlo Park Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident call the police department at (650) 330-6300.
