One arrested, one hospitalized after racing related accident on Amarillo Blvd last night-corrected info...

On 9-15-15, at 7:08 PM, officers responded to a rollover traffic accident in the 1200 block of Amarillo Boulevard East.  Officers found that a white 1988 GMC pickup was turning southbound to eastbound at the intersection of Amarillo Boulevard and N. Cleveland when a black Ford Mustang that was eastbound collided with the pickup.  The front of the Mustang hit the rear of the pickup.  There were two adults and one juvenile in the pickup.  All three were transported to the hospital by ambulance, and the driver, a HM 46, was admitted with a head injury.  His injury is not believed to be life-threatening at this time.  Officers found that the driver of the Mustang was racing with another vehicle, possibly a WHITE (corrected from earlier release which stated green) late model Acura, just prior to the collision.  The driver of the Mustang, Maria Pam Amaya WF 18 of Amarillo was at the scene.  She was arrested for racing on a highway resulting in an accident with bodily injury, a felony.  She was booked at the Potter County Detention Center.  If anyone was a witness to this accident or can provide information about the Acura that left the scene, please call the Amarillo Police Department at 378-3038 or Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
