Two new K9s to arrive soon and go to training

K9 program update

Great news! Through the generosity of many citizens and local businesses, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office has been able to purchase the first two patrol K9s.

The K9s were selected by staff from Alderhorst, Inc. (a reputable police K9 importing and training business) while on a recent selection trip to Germany.

The two K9s will arrive soon and begin training with their new partners, Deputy Dave DeLaRosa of Royal City, and Deputy Jaret Fulbright of Moses Lake. The two-and-a-half month K9 training will take place in Spokane. We look forward to having the K9 teams on patrol starting at the beginning of 2016.

We are still growing donations for one more K9. Anyone who wishes to contribute to this great program should visit www.columbiabasinfoundation.org.

Thank you everyone for your support!
