DUI/DL CHECKPOINT RESULTS
Checkpoints Net 2 DUI Arrest
Petaluma, California – On Saturday night September 12, 2015, between the hours of 6:00pm and 2:00am Sunday morning, the Petaluma Police Department conducted two DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoints in Petaluma. The first checkpoint was set up to screen NB drivers on Payran Street near Jefferson Street from 6pm to 9pm. The second checkpoint was set up to screen EB drivers on East Washington Street at Lakeville Street between 10pm and 2am. The purpose of the checkpoint operation was to raise public awareness about the dangers associated with impaired driving and to take enforcement action against impaired drivers and those driving with a suspended license or no license at all.
The checkpoints reported the following results:
638 vehicles went through the checkpoint
592 drivers screened by officers for signs of DUI and license checks
39 drivers directed into nearby parking area for further investigation.
13 drivers were administered Field Sobriety Tests
10 drivers arrested.
2 drivers arrested for DUI
Marcus Rossi, 34year old Novato resident
Sophia Perez, 27 year old Petaluma resident
3 drivers arrested for driving with a suspended license
5 drivers arrested were for driving without a license
3 vehicles were towed from the checkpoint
2 vehicles were impounded for 30 days.
