Public Invited to Danville Police Dept Open House on Sept 19

Whether you have a child fascinated with police officers or you yourself have always wanted to know exactly how fingerprints identify people, this is the perfect opportunity to come and learn! Meet the men and women who patrol the streets of Danville at the Sept. 19 Danville Police Department Open House.

This fun and educational day will offers a unique behind-the-scenes look into the exciting job of law enforcement.

Come explore high tech equipment such as the Tactical Response Vehicle used by the SWAT team. Adults (18 and over) can participate in a “Force Options” simulation where they can see what it’s like to make split second decisions about how to handle intense situations.

Tours of the facility will be available throughout the day. Additionally, there will be k-9 demonstrations, coloring stations and fingerprinting for kids. Participants will also be able to enjoy some tasty BBQ hotdogs!

One of the most important parts of law enforcement is building relationships with the community. We want to answer your questions, teach you about what we do and have fun getting to know you!

The Danville Police Department Open House is Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. No RSVP needed.
