Concerned Citizen with Tip Helps Officers Shut Down Washington Meth Lab

Washington: A Washington man is behind bars after officers followed up on a tip regarding an active methamphetamine lab.

On Tuesday, September 8, officers with the Washington Police Department received information about a possible methamphetamine lab at a residence on Northwest 11th Street in Washington. Around 8:00 P.M., after following up on information, Trooper Mitchell Wier, with Detective Shane Staggs and Washington Officer Brandon Garland, arrived at 310 Northwest 11th Street to met with Charles L. Faust, 51. While looking for Faust, officers could see precursors and materials used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, both inside the trailer and in the yard. Officers applied for a search warrant for the residence and property through the Daviess County Court, which allowed them to continue finding methamphetamine lab components, precursors, methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia. The Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppression Section was called to the scene to assist in the cleanup of the materials.

Officers later located Faust at his place of employment in Washington. He was taken into custody and transported to the Daviess County Security Center without incident.

The Indiana State Police and the ISP Meth Suppression Section asks citizens to continue playing a vital role in helping us remove methamphetamine from our communities.
