Grant County – Today, at approximately 6:29 a.m. officers from the Indiana State Police, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, and the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle crash on State Road 15 south of Grant County Road 600 North, in which a Marion, IN woman died.

The preliminary crash investigation by Indiana State Police Trooper Jeremy Perez revealed that John Frey, 73, Milford, IN was driving a 2007 Volvo semi-tractor, pulling an empty tanker trailer,  northbound on State Road 15, south of County Road 600 North. For an undetermined reason, the semi-tractor crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2002 Dodge Neon head on. The Neon was driven by Sierra Edwards, 31, Marion, IN.

Frey was not injured. Edwards was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

The investigation is ongoing, but neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to the crash.

Frey was driving for Eagle Transportation LLC based in Goshen, IN.
