Subject Arrested on 24 Felony Charges

Tippecanoe County-Yesterday at approximately 7:15 a.m, troopers from the Lafayette Post arrested Layhla M. Jenkins, 39 of Delphi, IN on 24 felony charges.

Master Trooper Detective Tom Minnicus of the Lafayette State Police Field Investigations Division was contacted by Trustworthy Appliance Service and Bill Gardener R.V./Bill Gardener Rentals, both of Lafayette, reference money that was allegedly taken from both businesses.  Jenkins worked at Trustworthy Appliance from November 2011 through April of 2013 and at Gardener R.V. from July to December of 2013.  She has 11 counts of Theft, a Class D Felony and 1 count of Corrupt Business Influence, a Class C Felony for each business she took money from.

Jenkins was arrested at her home by Troopers A.J. Smith and Mike Krueger and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail without incident.  The investigation is ongoing.  A picture may be obtained by contacting the Tippecanoe County Jail.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
