September 4, 2015
1635 Hours: Lieutenant Loth contacted and arrested a 52 year old male from Oakland for his outstanding arrest warrants. He was issued a notice to appear in court and was released.
September 5, 2015
0644 hours Officer Losier investigated a stolen vehicle. A 1993 gold Honda Accord was stolen overnight.
0902 hours Officer Lopez conducted a probation search at a home on Ravenswood Dr. A probationer was known to live in a shed in the backyard of the home. A 37 year old female was arrested for a violation of 1203.2 PC (violation of probation), 148 (a)(1) PC (resisting or delaying officers) and 11364.4 H&S (possession of drug paraphernalia). She was booked at Fremont PD jail.
1331 hours Officer Horst responded to Macy’s NewPark Mall for the report of two shoplifters in custody. Officer Horst accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 24 year old male from Oakland and a 26 year old male from Berkeley. Both were issued citations for a violation of 484 PC- petty theft.
1426 hours Officer Nobbe responded to Shell Gas Station Jarvis for a report of an unwanted guest in the mini mart. As Officers were responding to the call, the victim reported that he had been struck by the suspect. A 22 year old male from Newark was reported to have struck the attendant. Officer Nobbe arrested the suspect for a violation of 242 PC- battery. He was transported and booked at Santa Rita Jail.
1950 Hours: Officer Simon responded to a residence in the 7800 block of Hermitage Ave and arrested a 42 year old female from Newark for her two misdemeanor warrants. She was transported to Fremont PD Jail.
2007 Hours: A 29 year old male from Newark was violating a domestic violence restraining order while he was at a residence in the 35800 block of Orleans Drive. Officer Arroyo found the suspect hiding on the backseat floorboard of the Victim’s vehicle, which she had left unlocked in the driveway of the residence. The suspect presented only one hand when ordered to show his hands. He kept the other hidden and told officers that he had a gun. Officer Arroyo told him that he was going to be “Tased” and he then presented the other hand. The suspect reluctantly inched his way out of the vehicle and immediately began to pull away from the officers as they attempted to handcuff him. He was forced to the ground and continued to try to roll away from the officers as they ultimately gained control of his arms for handcuffing. He was transported to Fremont PD jail where he was booked for the restraining order violation and resisting arrest.
2215 Hours: A 41 year old male from Walnut Creek was contacted on a traffic stop and was determined to have a no cite misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. He was booked at Fremont PD Jail.
September 6, 2015
0917 hours-Officers were dispatched to the report of a disturbance in the Home Depot parking lot. Upon arrival Officer Losier contacted several subjects in the parking lot including a 21 year old male from Newark. Through his investigation, Officer Losier learned that the suspect had a handgun concealed in his backpack, which was in the backseat of the parked vehicle. He was subsequently arrested for a violation of 25400 (a)(1) PC- carrying a firearm in a vehicle, 25850 (a) PC- carrying a loaded firearm in public and 25400 (c)(6) PC- carrying a loaded firearm enhancement. He was transported and booked at Fremont PD Jail.
1151 hours-Officers were dispatched back to Home Depot on a report that a 33 year old transient male had threatened the reporting party with a knife and rock. Officer Nobbe arrived and learned the suspect chased the reporting party with a rock and threatened to strike him with it. The male suspect dropped the rock and brandished a knife at the reporting party and threatened to stab him with it. The suspect then fled the area on foot prior to the arrival of police. During an area check, Officer Musantry located the suspect walking on Thornton Ave. Officer Musantry attempted to detain the suspect, who refused to comply with verbal commands. Officer Musantry pointed his Taser at the suspect and he still refused to comply with verbal commands. Upon the arrival of Officer Losier and Acting Sgt Lopez, the suspect was forced to the ground and detained in handcuffs. The suspect was arrested for a violation of 422 PC – deadly threats, 417 (a)(1) PC – brandishing a weapon in a deadly manner and 148(a)(1) PC- resisting arrest. He was transported and booked at Fremont PD Jail.
1445 hours-Officer Niethercutt investigated the report of the burglary of a storage unit located at Public Storage on Fircrest Street.
1626 hours- Officer Musantry investigated the report of a residential ransack burglary at a residence in the 38200 block of Guava Dr. The loss includes two televisions and jewelry.
1755 hours NPD Dispatch received multiple 911 calls regarding a large tree in Community Center Park falling. Officers arrived on scene and located an extremely large tree had fallen in an area where multiple parties were occurring. Luckily no one was struck by the approximately 150-200 foot tree. The area of the park was evacuated and blocked off until the tree could be safely removed.
1942 Hours: Officer Khairy investigated a residential ransack burglary at a residence in the 6200 block of Joaquin Murieta Ave that occurred between 09/04/15 and 09/06/15. Entrance was made through a rear sliding glass door, which had been shattered.
0343 Hours: Officer Khairy investigated a domestic battery where a 29 year old male from Newark pulled the hair and grabbed the arm of the victim. The suspect was arrested for 243(e)(1)PC – domestic violence battery and was transported to Fremont PD Jail. The Victim was granted an emergency protective order by an on call judge.
September 7, 2015
1356 hours Officer Losier responded to a report of a dog left in a locked vehicle near the Pick N Pull parking lot. The RP was concerned for the dog’s safety and health due to the high temperature. Upon arrival he located the dog panting heavily. The dog appeared to be in distress however as officers approached the window the dog became aggressive. The dog owner arrived on scene a short time later and advised he left the dog in the parked car for approximately 35 minutes and saw no issues with what he had done. Officer Losier disagreed with the owners assessment and cited the 51 year old male from Livermore for a violation of 597.7 PC- animal cruelty.
2202 Hours: During a traffic stop on Cherry St., Officer Rodgers arrested a 42 year old male from San Lorenzo for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was booked at Fremont PD Jail for 23152(a)VC.
0027 Hours: A 49 year old male from Fremont took a cab ride from Alameda to Newark to visit his estranged wife on Joaquin Murieta Ave. Upon arrival he ran inside the house without paying his cab fare. Unfortunately for the quick suspect, he had a Felony warrant for being a Parolee at large. He was arrested without incident at the residence by Officer Homayoun and booked at Santa Rita Jail.
