Greene County Labor Day Weekend Pursuit Results in Felony Charges for Putnam County Man

Linton – Just before midnight Friday night, Linton Police Officer Logan Hobbs attempted to stop a Ford pickup truck in regards to an equipment violation. The truck was traveling northbound on State Road 59 north of Linton and failed to yield to Officer Hobbs and instead accelerated away.  Officers were able to obtain the license plate number and information indicating the driver, Shane A. Hollingsworth, 40, of Greencastle, was wanted on a warrant regarding a Parole Violation for Serious Violent Felon in Possession of Firearm and for Felony Resisting Law Enforcement.

As Hollingsworth continued to resist law enforcement with his vehicle, he drove off road through multiple farm fields causing thousands of dollars in crop damage.  When Hollingsworth’s vehicle ultimately became disabled in a bean field, a perimeter was quickly established as he attempted to flee on foot.  Officer’s located him in the field and ordered him to surrender to which he complied.

Hollingsworth is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges including Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon when he swerved into the path of an ISP Trooper and forced him to leave the roadway to avoid impact.

Hollingsworth was also found to be in possession of illegal narcotics.

Hollingsworth is being held at the Greene County Jail without bond.
