Sonoma County Sheriff's Office announces our first Spanish-language Community Academy Class

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce
Community Academy Class

This session of our Community Academy is taught entirely in Spanish and all materials and presentations will be provided in Spanish only.

October 14, 21 and 28, 2015
Three Wednesday evening sessions from 6 PM to 9 PM

The Community Academy provides participants with an inside look at local law enforcement. The three session academy is designed to give participants an overview of our office, policies and procedures.

During the Academy, students will learn about law enforcement patrol functions, specialized units, criminal law, the correctional system, ethics, communications as well as all of our investigation units including: CSI, Coroner, Violent Crimes, Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault, Narcotics, Intelligence Unit and much more. Also included is a walking tour of the Main Adult Detention Facility. Academy classes are taught by bilingual Sheriff's Office executives and veteran personnel. This session is taught entirely in Spanish and all materials and presentations will be provided in Spanish only. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and to express their concerns.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office hopes there will be a greater awareness and understanding of law enforcement's role in the community through the education provided by the Community Academy.

We offer this Spanish-language Community Academy each year during the fall season. The length of each Academy is three sessions. Classes meet Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Main Building, 2796 Ventura Ave., Santa Rosa.
