INCIDENT: Bank Robbery
SUSPECT: James Herbert Emory
CHARGES: Armed Robbery and Failure to Appear
On 08/14/2015 the Marietta Police Department began investigating a Bank Robbery that occurred at the BB&T Bank located at 751 Whitlock Ave. On 08/19/2015 Villa Rica Police Department investigated a similar bank robbery involving a suspect matching the description from the robbery that occurred in Marietta.
Leads were developed during this investigation which lead to a suspect being identified as James Herbert Emory, (45), of Villa Rica, GA.
The City of Marietta Police Department, assisted by Villa Rica Police Department, FBI and the Cobb County Sheriff Office’s Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Mr. Emory on 08/20/15 in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Emory is currently being held at the Cobb County Jail regarding warrants for failure to appear and armed robbery. Charges are also pending for Mr. Emory’s arrest out of Carrol County, GA. regarding the Villa Rica incident.
