All funds raised from the Running Vines-Hero Half Marathon and 10K will benefit the Indiana State Police K-9 program with purchasing Bullet Resistant Vests for the dogs.  Their goal is to raise enough monies to purchase 15 vests.  The Indiana State Police currently have thirty-six dogs assigned to our K-9 program.

Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter stated, “It’s great when a company like Running Vines sees a need and finds a way to help law enforcement and at the same time lessen the burden on all taxpayers.”  Carter concluded, “Our K-9’s may save a citizen’s or a trooper’s life, so we want to do what we can to protect them as well.”
