Early this morning, at approximately 12:51 am, Palmdale Deputies responded to a family disturbance call on the 5800 Block of Saint Laurent Dr., in the city of Palmdale. Family members awoke to the sound of a loud commotion on the first floor of the residence. Family members discovered 22 year-old Andres Garcia, a resident at the location, kicking and chasing the family dogs.
According to family members they tried to stop Garcia but were unsuccessful. The family contacted Sheriff Deputies to respond. Upon their arrival, deputies found four small dogs in the backyard who appeared to be traumatized. One of the dogs appeared to have both its hind legs broken and several lacerations. Another dog was bleeding from the mouth and had trauma to its neck. The physical condition of the other two dogs is unknown at this time.
Animal Control was notified and will be conducting an investigation regarding this incident.
Suspect Garcia was arrested for suspicion of Cruelty to Animals and was booked at Palmdale Sheriff‘s Station. His bail amount has been set at $20,000 and he is scheduled to be arraigned on September 2, 2015, at the Antelope Valley Courthouse.
