Advisory

Hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise taken during a commercial burglary

DATE/TIME: August 30, 2015

INCIDENT: Commercial Burglary

LOCATION: Mono Price 11701 6th Street, Rancho Cucamonga

On August 28, 2015 at approximately 11:00 pm Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported theft of a white Isuzu box truck from MonoPrice located on 6th Street in Rancho Cucamonga. A report was taken and deputies checked the surrounding area for the missing truck and made sure the business appeared secure before leaving.

Sometime between 11:00pm on Friday night and 10:35am on Sunday morning, dispatch received a call from MonoPrice, reporting someone cut a hole in one of the roll-up loading dock doors and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise. From the video surveillance it appears the suspects gained entry into the business and crawled around inside to bypass the alarm system. Over the next few hours, the suspects loaded high end merchandise from the warehouse into the stolen MonoPrice box truck until it was fully loaded. The truck was driven away in an unknown direction.

MonoPrice estimates the loss to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Deputies were able to recover surveillance video from the store. Detectives will be looking for additional surveillance video from neighboring businesses.

At about 5:00pm on Sunday, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call from MonoPrice saying their stolen truck was just recovered by Cal-Poly Pomona Police. The truck was sitting empty in one of the campus construction areas. Deputies are processing the box truck for fingerprints and looking at all video surveillance in the area to help with leads on potential suspects in this case.
