On Friday, September 18, 2015 the Kern County Sheriff’s Office will be transferring all news release advisories, including news releases, incident announcements, and Coroner’s news releases, to the Nixle system.
The Nixle system was introduced to the media several months ago. Nixle subscribers can sign up for Nixle alerts which can be received via email, smart phone, or both.
Members of the media who wish to sign up for Sheriff’s Office Nixle alerts can email their name, email address, and cell phone number including area code, to Public Information Officer Ray Pruitt at [email protected].
As a reminder, the Sheriff’s Office will discontinue sending news release advisories via the old news release system at 5:00 pm on September 18, 2015.
