On 08-30-15, at approximately 8:30 PM, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department responded to a report of a roll over traffic collision on C Street, just west of the intersection with Fourth Avenue in Chula Vista.

When officers arrived on scene, witnesses reported seeing a driver of a Toyota truck traveling at an unsafe speed eastbound on C Street. The truck then lost control and went airborne. The truck landed, rolled over, and struck two parked vehicles that were parked on the side of the road. The driver of the truck was ejected from the vehicle and he was later pronounced dead at the scene. One of the vehicles struck had an individual underneath the car who was working on the vehicle. The individual who was working on the vehicle was transported to the hospital was potential serious injuries.

The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau was called to the scene and is investigating the collision. The cause of the collision has not been determined. The 400 block of C Street will remain closed until further notice as a result of the investigation.
