On Thursday, August 27, 2015, the Fremont Police Department Street Crimes Unit (SCU) arrested suspect Richard Dawson for exposing himself to female victims.
Fremont Police Department Detectives had been investigating several recent reports of a male exposing himself to female victims. Detectives identified the suspect as registered sex offender, Richard Dawson (42 years old/San Francisco). Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Dawson and requested SCU’s assistance to locate and apprehend him.
On Thursday, plain-clothes SCU officers and detectives followed Dawson from San Francisco to Hayward where he arrived at the Southland Shopping Mall. Officers made contact and Dawson was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Fremont City Jail.
