Castaic and Val Verde: Zone 2 - Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for the Week of 8/17/2015 to 8/23/2015
The following crimes were reported in Zone 2 - Castaic/Val Verde:
A commercial burglary was reported from the 31000 block of Ridge Route
Road. The glass front door to the business was broken and several cartons
of cigarettes were stolen. The crime occurred on August 18, 2015 around
2 a.m.
A commercial burglary was reported from the 31000 block of Charlie
Canyon. The lock to the front door of the business was broken. Paintball
guns and air canisters were taken. The crime occurred in the early
morning hours of August 23, 2015.
A theft by fraud was reported from the 31000 block of North Hills Lake.
The resident reported a loss of $27,000 after falling victim to a
fraudulent sweepstakes scam.
Please remember to never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle,
close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of
a crime of opportunity. If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa
