Traffic Safety at Newark Schools 
The Traffic Division with the assistance of several patrol officers provided Traffic Education to parents and motorists in and around the schools, specifically Newark Memorial High School, Newark Junior High School, Schilling, Bunker, Milani, Graham, Snow, Kennedy and Bridgepoint.
30 + warnings were given to drivers at NMHS and numerous warnings given to drivers at NJH as well as the Elementary Schools.
While Newark PD is making an effort to educate motorists and pedestrians regarding traffic laws. We will soon begin increased enforcement efforts to ensure safety of the students.
****Safety First!****
Parents of students attending Newark Junior High School are encouraged to utilize the east parking lot to drop off and pick up students. Parking is not allowed in front of the school to drop off or pick up students. Further, motorists are advised it is illegal to make a U-turn in this area.
Parents of students attending Newark Memorial High School are encouraged to utilize either the north parking lot or the south parking lot to drop off and pick up students. Parking or stopping along Cedar Blvd. to drop off or pick up students is not allowed. Further, motorists are cautioned to not stop in any lane of traffic and let their child out of the vehicle and onto the roadway.
