Lakewood Station Deputies arrest Suspect after sword attack in Bellflower.

Lakewood Station Deputies responded to 10500 Flora Vista St, "Caruthers Park" regarding an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call – Possible Stabbing on Thursday, August 27th at approximately 10:40 p.m.  Upon arrival, Deputies discovered two victims were attacked by two male Hispanic Suspects near the San Gabriel Valley riverbed after a verbal confrontation.  One of the Suspects was carrying a sword, approximately 18 inches in length, while the other carried an aluminum baseball bat.

One Victim sustained a laceration from the sword across his forehead while the second victim was struck with a baseball bat resulting in serious injuries.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they are listed in stable condition. 

Deputies canvassed the area for the Suspects and were able to locate and arrest one.  The second Suspect remains outstanding.  Both weapons used in the assault have not been recovered.
