“Police Blotter” Highlights – Ending August 23, 2015

ROBBERY
On Tuesday, August 18th, around 8 p.m., Ofc. Llamas was dispatched to the AT&T store at Union Landing for a just-occurred robbery report. Two suspects took six cell phones from the display table, shoved an employee out of the way, and fled on foot. See below picture of the suspects. The first suspect was described as a black male, 25-30 years old, 5’11” to 6’2” and 175-180 lbs., wearing a dark green coat with a white shirt underneath, white pants and a green camo hat. The second suspect was described as a black male, 25-30 years old, 5’11” to 6’2” and 170-175, with short black hair, wearing a black shirt with a tan circular logo on the front and tan pants.

On Friday, August 21st, around 6:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to Valencia Way on reports of a robbery. A suspect approached the victim, snatched the gold chain from her neck and fled on foot. The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5’8,” wearing a denim jacket and green baseball cap.

On Saturday, August 22nd, around 12:40 a.m., Ofc. Stables was dispatched to Decoto Rd. on the report of a robbery that had occurred about 30 minutes prior. The victim was walking on the sidewalk of Skylark Dr. when two male suspects approached her. The first suspect brandished a machete and demanded the victim’s possessions. The victim handed over her laptop, wallet, keys and cell phone. The first suspect was described as being 5’8” with a thin build, wearing a red hoody with a zipper and a black ski mask. The second suspect was taller than the first suspect, wearing a black hoody that was pulled over his head.

On Sunday, August 23rd, around 8:30 p.m., Ofc. Rivas was dispatched to the Shell gas station on Mission Blvd. on the report of a robbery. The victim was vacuuming his car when a suspect pulled him out of the car, threw him to the ground and pointed a gun at him. The suspect demanded money and fled on foot after the victim gave him $60. The suspect was described as a male, 5’8” to 5’10,” wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, a black and white mask, with a black semi-auto handgun.

BURGLARY TOOLS
On Thursday, August 20th, around 5:40 p.m., Ofc. Jensen was conducting security checks in the area of Solar Circle and contacted an individual inside a garage. A probation search yielded a shaved key. Justin Crabtree, a 42-year-old Union City resident, was arrested for the possession of burglary tools.

On Thursday, August 20th, around 9:30 p.m., Ofc. Llamas was conducting a patrol check of the Walmart parking lot and contacted an individual. A probation search of her purse yielded four shaved keys. Tamara Rosselli, a 44-year-old Oakland resident, was arrested for the possession of burglary tools.

BURGLARIES AND CAR THEFTS

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, August 17th through Sunday, August 23rd, there were three reported residential burglaries:
• 2100 block of Decoto Rd.: Occurred between Friday, August 7th at 10 a.m., and Monday, August 10th at 1 p.m. A window was left open. The loss included a safe, documents, electronics and cash.
• 5100 block of Rose Way: Occurred on Monday, August 17th, between 9 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. A rear window was pried or forced open, and the loss included electronics.
• 200 block of Hula Circle: Occurred between Friday, August 14th at 8 a.m., and Friday, August 21st at 6:15 p.m. Unknown method of entry, and the loss included Craftsman tools.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
From Monday, August 17th through Sunday, August 23rd, there were no reported commercial burglaries.

AUTO BURGLARIES AND VEHICLE THEFTS
From Monday, August 17th through Sunday, August 23rd, there were three reported auto burglaries, two of which occurred in the Union Landing shopping center. They both involved property that was left in plain view in the front or back seat. Safety Tip: As a reminder, never leave items of value inside your vehicle!

From Monday, August 17th through Sunday, August 23rd, there were two reported vehicle thefts. As of the time of this report, one of the vehicles has been recovered.
