Sheriff’s Office Investigates Stabbing Involving Two Family Members

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding an altercation between two family members at a residence in the unincorporated area of Lompoc that resulted in both parties being transported to the hospital in critical condition with multiple stab wounds.

At approximately 9:15 p.m. on August 26, a female in her twenties was discovered by a relative outside a residence in the 3500 block of Via Lato in the Mission Hills neighborhood suffering from multiple stab wounds.  Approximately ten minutes later, a male in his sixties, who was related to the victim, was found with stab wounds in the 700 block of Summerwood Lane in the City of Lompoc.  At this point in the early stage of the investigation, it appears that following the altercation, the male victim left the residence and went to a friend’s home who then called 911 for help.

The male victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.  The female victim was airlifted to a local hospital. Both are critical but stable condition.

The Sheriff’s Office does not believe there are any outstanding suspects.  Due to the active investigation, this is all the information that can be released at this time.
