Incident: Fatal Traffic Collision and DUI Arrest

On Monday, August 24, 2015, at 8:48 p.m., Fremont Police received a 9-1-1 call of a reported collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Fremont Blvd near Nicolet Ave.
Fremont Police and Fire both immediately responded to the collision and found a 35 year old adult female in the roadway suffering from major injuries. Paramedics attempted to treat the female for her injuries, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene. Also at the scene was the driver of the vehicle, Aaron Peters (33 year old adult male, Union City resident).
Through their investigation Fremont Police Traffic Officers determined that the female was walking outside of the crosswalk located at Fremont Blvd. and Nicolet Ave at the time of the collision. In addition, the driver of the vehicle was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and was arrested at the scene for DUI. Aaron Peters was transported to the Fremont Jail and booked into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
