The Jackson Police Department hosted a physical fitness and agility test at North Park on Saturday, August 22, for potential candidates who want to become police officers.
The candidates had to perform a series of events, which included a 1.5-mile run, pushups, sit-ups, the Illinois agility course, and a 150-pound dummy drag. Sixty-two candidates participated in the tests; only 40 candidates completed all events successfully.
Candidates successfully completing the physical fitness and agility test were given a date and time for an interview with the department.
