On Saturday August 22nd at 7:55pm, APD officers were sent to Wal-Mart in the 4600 block of S Coulter reference to a theft that had just taken place. The caller was an off-duty APD officer who had witnessed several subjects taking items from the Wal-Mart and leaving out a side door without paying for the merchandise. The suspects were followed as the got into black GMC Tahoe and were now south bound on S Coulter. The off duty officer in his personal vehicle began to follow the suspects while he contact APD dispatchers. The suspect vehicle was followed for several miles until on-duty officers could intercept the suspect vehicle. The GMC Tahoe was stopped near I-27 and Sundown Road and the 4 occupants were removed from the vehicle. Officers observed numerous pieces of merchandise that appeared to have been stolen in plain view throughout the Tahoe. Officers were able to determine all of the suspects were all part of the theft of merchandise from Wal-Mart. Officers recovered numerous clothing items, electronic video games, and several pieces of personal identification information. Officers also located a .357 handgun that was seized as evidence.
Arrested were Corbin Blake Hill W/M 20 and Gekeil Edward Graves B/M 20 for a Class B Misdemeanor Theft over $50 less than $500. Jeffrey Bowers W/M 20 was arrested for Theft over $50 less than $500 and 2 local municipal court warrants. Augustus Woodrow Fennel was arrested for Theft over $50 less than $500, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and 2 local misdemeanor traffic charges. All four subjects are from Amarillo and were booked into the Randall County Jail.
