Press Release: Woman Arrested for Credit Card Theft

ACCUSED: Arlene Benton age 55 Asbury Park, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On 7/29/15, the owner of a local plumbing contracting business reported that a former employee had stolen a business credit card in 2013 and made numerous unauthorized charges. An investigation revealed that the former employee, Arlene Benton, took a business credit card and made over $24,000.00 in fraudulent charges. It was additionally learned that she accessed the business bank account and stole over $9000.00 from the account to make payments to the credit card company in an attempt to cover her crimes.
Ms. Benton was arrested and charged with credit card fraud and theft by Detective Orbach. She was released on a complaint summons and is scheduled to appear at a future court hearing.
