On August 12, 2015, deputies were dispatched to a victim of a stabbing at Motel 6, located at 5241 Olive Tree Ct. Deputies located Justin Milner suffering from major injuries inside of a motel room. Milner was transported by ambulance to Kern Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Homicide detectives responded and quickly developed information that Milner had been in a fight with Chad Kallevig in the motel room. During the fight, Kallevig stabbed Milner one time and then ran away from the motel. An arrest warrant was obtained for Kallevig for murder.
On August 13, 2015, Kallevig was located by deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, with assistance from patrol deputies, at a residence in the area of 24 St and B St. He was arrested without incident. Kallevig was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for one count of murder and is being held without bail.
