Forged Instrument Arrest
(Etowah County, Alabama) An Etowah County man was arrested and charged in connection to the theft of a box of personal checks, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Donny Brian Putman, 36, of Altoona, was arrested August 13, and is charged with one count of second degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony,” Sgt. Robin Grant said.
Putman allegedly forged and cashed a check in the amount of $484.54 at a local bank. He also cashed three additional forged checks at a store in Oneonta. The victim has filed a report with the Oneonta Police Department concerning the incident.
Putman was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 property bond.
