Great Bend, Kansas, police detained Chris Solida (5/11/1976) after he held them at bay for several hours as he sat with his two young children inside a vehicle at a motel parking lot Friday night. OSBI agents were searching for Solida to question him about the shooting of his wife. Brandy Solida, 33, was shot in the head Friday afternoon. She was life flighted to an Oklahoma City hospital where she is in good condition. The Woodward County District Attorney is working on charges. The two young children are in Kansas state custody. The Woodward County Sheriff's Office requested OSBI assistance in the case Friday afternoon. Investigators with that department have also been very active in the case.
