A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted on Lawrence Wy. near Parkside Dr. on Saturday, August 15th from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM. 
In 2013, the Walnut Creek Police Department (WCPD) launched a partnership with the Center for Human Development (CHD) aimed at reducing underage drinking. Several projects have taken place in the past two years working towards that goal. The next project will take place this Saturday August 15th at 9:00pm when the WCPD will conduct a sobriety checkpoint. The purpose of the checkpoint is to provide education regarding drinking and driving, as well as reduce the number of impaired drivers within the city limits.
The sobriety checkpoint will be located on Lawrence Way north of Parkside Drive, near the onramp to Northbound 680. Hours of operation will be approximately 9:00pm until 2:00am.
WCPD encourages anyone who intends to drink, to make plans to have a “designated driver” or arrange to take a cab ride home. WCPD appreciates everyone’s support and help at making our streets safe from impaired drivers.
