On 8/13/15, Windsor police officers arrested a Healdsburg woman after she robbed a Windsor gas station and fled in her vehicle.
At about 4:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery at the Shell Gas Station on Hembree Lane. The suspect, described as a white female adult, had displayed a handgun to the clerk and demanded money. The suspect left the store after the clerk gave her an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect drove from the scene in a silver Toyota 4-Runner and fled northbound on Highway 101. An officer spotted the suspect in central Windsor and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit that continued up to Healdsburg, then south on Old Redwood Highway back to Windsor at speeds up to 80 miles per hour. Deputies from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Officer joined in the pursuit to assist.
At the north end of Windsor, deputies deployed a spike strip and flattened three of the four tires on the suspect vehicle. Once the vehicle was disabled, the suspect got out of her vehicle and attempted to force her way into the vehicle of a passing motorist.
Officers were able to stop and arrest the suspect, whom they identified as Samantha Mana Bray, age 37. A subsequent search of the suspect and her vehicle revealed she was in possession of a pellet pistol and cash believed to be taken from the gas station.
Bray was charged with robbery, evading arrest, attempted carjacking, and violation of 4 counts of probation. Bray was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility and is being held on $54,000 bail.
