Reward
The Kern County Sheriff's Office would like to advise the public of a reward being offered in the ongoing investigation in Kelso Valley.
The Secret Witness Program is offering a reward of up to $5000.00 for information leading to the arrest and filing of a criminal complaint against 34 year old Benjamin Peter Ashley for kidnapping, murder, and the attempt murder of a peace officer.
Ashley is a suspect in a kidnapping which occurred on July 28, 2015 in Twin Oaks, a murder which occurred on July 30, 2015 in Jawbone Canyon, and the attempt murder of Sheriff's Office SWAT deputies during a shooting in Jawbone Canyon on August 1, 2015.
The US Marshals Service is also offering a reward of up to $5000.00 for information leading to the arrest and filing of a criminal complaint against Ashley.
