Just after midnight, the Cotton County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI assistance with a suspicious death. OSBI agents arrived on the scene early Tuesday morning. A child living inside the home had called 9-1-1 to report the house at 190244 County Road North 2700 was on fire. When Temple fire fighters arrived on scene, they were able to pull Shannen Brown, 41, from inside the home. She was dead. Trauma to her body indicates she died from a homicidal act, not from the fire. After interviewing the teenage child who reported the fire, agents arrested him for first degree murder. He has not yet been charged. OSBI agents are working with agents from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and deputies with the Cotton County Sheriff’s Office.
