Reported Missing Motorcyclists Located Off I-465 Deceased
Indianapolis, IN- A motorcyclists that had been reported missing to the Greenfield Police Department was located today by a family member that had begun to retrace the man’s route of travel.
Late this afternoon, the Indiana State Police were contacted by the Greenfield Police Department and asked to check the area of I-465/I-865 for Louis L. Clark, 38, of Greenfield that had been reported missing by family. His wife had been following him on August 9th at approximately 6:30 a.m. and lost sight of him in the area of I-465/I-865. She later reported him missing to the Greenfield Police Department. Information gained through the course of their investigation led the Greenfield Police Department to ask the Indiana State Police to check the area of I-465 at the 24mm.
While enroute to check the area, ISP received a report of a possible disabled vehicle in the same area. When troopers arrived, they found that the possible disabled vehicle was one of Clarks family members that had been retracing his possible route of travel and observed a damaged guard rail in this area. Further investigation found that the damaged guard rail was from a previous unrelated crash, but the family member did discover motorcycle pieces and ultimately Mr. Clark. The victim and his motorcycle were reportedly 30 to 40 feet down an embankment and unable to be seen from the roadway.
Mr. Clark was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Boone County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed on Tuesday August 11th.
Anyone with information or that may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Trooper Aryaun Smith at the Indianapolis Post. (317) 899-8577.
Questions to Greenfield Police Department concerning their investigation should be directed to Chief John Jester at (317) 477-4410.
